How to support research on breast cancer at home, school and office

We've all known someone in our lives who fought breast cancer – a family member, friend, work colleague. This article will help you see how you can support breast cancer research at home, school and office. Read more about the Foundation for breast cancer research and how they work towards the prevention of breast cancer and finding a cure.

The best way to support breast cancer research is to make a donation. It does not matter if you give money, time or supplies – you support a charity for a cause. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a good place to start. They are dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer and finding a cure in the world by funding clinical and genetic research.

Did you know …

– Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women, exceeded only by lung cancer.

– It is estimated by the American Cancer Society in 2008 approximately 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among women in the United States.

– In 2008, ACS estimates that approximately 40,480 women die breast cancer in the United States.

– Among men, 1,990 new cases are expected in 2008, with 450 deaths

– At this moment there are about 2.5 million survivors of breast cancer in the United States.

– At least 85 cents of every dollar donated goes to research and awareness programs.

– Since its inception, the Breast Cancer Research Hospital has raised more than $ 220 million – 39.5 million in 2007/08.

-In October 2008, BCRF pay more than 34 million dollars in new research grants to 165 researchers from top universities and academic medical centers worldwide.

So how can you support breast cancer research in your office? The answer is two simple words: office supplies. Every office needs office supplies to survive. You rely on them for communications, comfort, storage and organization, to name a few. Well, if you are already buying office supplies, why not buy from an organization that supports research for breast cancer?!

There are many companies office supplies donate all or part of their products to the research on breast cancer. Some do it all year round, others during breast cancer awareness month, which is in October. It is easy to find companies that sell office supplies online or in store. All you have to do is ask or do a search online simple.

And not only on the pink ribbon! You can find everything from file folders hanging file, with desk tops organizer, wallets and more. Some office supplies will be available in pink so you can show your support through the office.
It is always a great time to be involved in the fight against breast cancer. But now, especially during the Back to School season, good time as any. When you're buying school supplies with your children, teach them the importance of supporting charities and show that support for the research of breast cancer is a great way to do just that.
